This is to say the least insane, absurd and absolutely preposterous. I still can`t come to terms with the fact that a knowledgeable Nigerian can be so brainwashed to this level.
This is a case of the chicken coming home to roost. Religious extremism, and unholy incitement to violence, have always been a political tool for most of the political and busines elite in Northern Nigeria. I hate to make this assertion, but this is the truth. The vulnerable, less privillaged "Almajiris", have always been their handy susceptible tools, they've always manipulated. Is it any surprise now, that some of the annoited heirs of these elites have become pushed to the extreme and have become susceptible themselves?
The "Bukun Haram" guy that got summarily executed after been caught alife and now "Muttalad" trying to blow up an aircraft with 278 innocent lives. There's a lot more than meets the eye. Akinyuli's well lace statement is a smokescreen. We need a plausible explanation. How did this guy beat the Nigerian security operatives? Did one big "oga" walk him through the security checks?  These guys have been doing a wonderful job, apart from their annoying "Oga wetin you get for us?". The father contacting security operatives about his son; was that a self saving ploy? The honourable minister have a lot of explanation for Nigerians and the world. Now we want to know how well the Nigerian Auhorities have investigated the 'BuKun Haram" violence and summary execution of it's leader. What else have the Governor who appointed the "Bukum Haram" leader a commisioner in his government revealed? Time for an end to thee cover ups, is now. If we want the global community to take us serious and not label us a haven for terrorist, then these quesitons needs answer and not inchoate innuendo or fancy talk.

Muslims always say it’s not all Muslims that are Terrorists, but every one of you will agree with me that all Terrorist are Muslims. His father has spent tens of thousands of pounds to train his kid in the UK, but only to bring shame and disgrace to Nigerians especially those living outside Africa as this will lead to airline scrutiny and all other airport procedures such as Customs and Immigrations will become tightening. It will take a very long time before this bad image will be erased. I wonder how and why he conceived this ugly act and why would he want to bring such disgrace to our Country? Perhaps he would have been sensible enough if he had tasted poverty like many of us did. How did his Father learnt about the incident a month ago?

I guess Nigerian passport is now in soup, before now Nigerian passport is something else outside the soil of Nigeria.

I was in South Africa December 2008, because of my Nigerian passport. No hotel gave me accommodation in Johannesburg because I am a Nigeria. Similarly, I was in Egypt in January 2009 because of my passport among everybody that boarded the flight I was taken to different department for special interview and subjected to severe scrutiny. August 2009 I was in UAE, it is only God that can narrate the level of carefulness people observe in dealing with you as a Nigerian. Wherever u go in UAE Indian, Pakistani, Philippines etc .call Nigerians “problem, problem, plenty problem etc” I just wonder where we are going.

Nigerians are branded to be the criminal of the highest order, the most dubious people and corrupt people in the world but now Nigeria now has terrorism included in to what we are known to be beforehand, courtesy of Umaru Faruq; a disgraseful ministerson son, which I congratulate on behalf of Nigeria. It is only God that we help us, or probably if Nigeria split we now have different names probably that may help to redem our immage or we remain suspicious for forevr.

This is unbelivable that a Nageria born Citizen can do such thing. It has put Nigeria in a spotlight worldwide. I will not Travel for a while. I am even feeling the after effect at my work place now as a Nigeria base in U.S. Like the other guy said, this guy's father need to be investigated. I wish this guy has not chosen to do this to himself and this great nation of ours Nigeria. This is absurd. Imagine Nigeria being in international spotlight, the innocent will be the ones to suffer. The embarrasssment we face at the international airport when Nigeria flight arrives will escalate. I have no blame on any nation, if not on these bastards that call themselves Nigerian that let religion wipe their common sense. The guy and whoever have the mind of killing innocent or even take life are fanatics, the Quran doesn't teach of killing innocent for no reason. These group of people are idiot, senseless and brainwashed. But, I am very optimistic that Nigeria will prevail. My people, lets be steadfast in prayer for the nation of Nigeria.

We should also have a vivid look at the situation:

This fool flew from Nigeria > Yemen> Amsterdam > then Proceed to The USA--- without him be cought? .... I used to know Amsterdam Schiphol Airport as one of the most secured Airport in the Realm.  Come On, the World Should intrude.

it's a pity that he allowed himself to be used by terrorist group, but his father failed in his responsibility as a father, he should accept that.

This is a blatant setup .... this MUST be the handiwork of the opposition party especially the AC "bigheads" like Fashola and Tinubu. They want to rubbish the "excellent" work of the Aaondokkas, Akunyilis and the "marvellous" PDP government. The Americans should focus their attention on the opposition parties in Nigeria .. they are the ones that brainwashed this boy to abandon 'ajebota' lifestyle and choosed to be a bomber. The boy should be extradited back to Nigeria and tried in a hurriedly setup Federal High Court in Asaba, Delta State by Judge Awokulehin and expressly acquited of all charges as he is purely innocent.  chikena!

now this is what we call a bitchass, how can u say this
