the social media woke up on monday morning to read reports coming from the media officer of Sunshine Stars of akure claiming that the supporters and players of the Akure Gunners were held hostage by 3SC fans after the tension soaked match between the two big Nigeria premier league clubs . The Media officer of 3Sc Jubril Arowolo this morning release an official statement about what actually happened on sunday via his facebook account.

"It is highly important to put a stop to the misinformation being spread by the Media Manager of Sunshine Stars F.C., Mr Wahab Bankole about the fabricated damage to their bus.
This is a blatant falsehood and Shooting Stars as a traditional club with impeccable integrity need to come out clean and paint a clearer picture!
We want to believe that Mr Wahab Bankole must have been misquoted because it was actually the 3SC bus that was damaged in an effort to prevent the irate fans from attacking Sunshine Stars' Dare Ojo, who had deliberately attacked the ball boy (who is still being hospitalized) in the course of the match. (see pix. 1&2)
Some of the fans believed the yellow card issued to him instead of red was not enough, hence, they must punish him!
As such, the General Manager, Rashidi Balogun had to instruct one of the drivers, Mr Ojo Thomas to use our bus to convey the Sunshine Stars players and officials to their hotel which apparently did not go down with the angry fans who broke the back screen of the bus...see picture 3. Even after the match commissioner and assessor had ensured nothing happened to the vehicles!
Thus, it was very surprising to read on/in the social the misinformation and an act of putting the game to disrepute, despite the efforts of the League Management Company, (LMC) at fashioning the league which everybody will be proud of all over the world!
However, it is our hope that this act of dispute from Sunshine Stars would not go unchecked..!"
