Troops of the Nigerian Army have arrested a suspected “financier” of Boko Haram, one Mohammed Maina, who was said to be carrying N1 million cash. The suspected financier of the sect, who is said to deal in kolanuts and other stimulants, was intercepted in Bama, Bama Local Government Area of Borno State. Upon interrogation, he was said to have revealed that kolanuts were in high demand, owing to their capacity to keep the fighters awake and active during the night. The disclosure was made in a statement by the Acting Director, Army Public Relations (DAPR), Colonel Sani Usman. The statement further noted that a joint operation by troops of the 112 Battalion and Special Forces in Mafa and Dikwa on Monday, led to the killing of “quite a number of the Boko Haram terrorists”, and subsequent destruction of their camp in Bulungwa Naibe in Dikwa Local Government Area of Borno State Tuesday.
