A 30-year-old man, Jude Amadi, has been remanded in prison custody by the Federal High Court sitting in Calabar, Cross River State, by Justice Emmanuel Obile, after he was arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), for allegedly duping a Swedish national of the sum of N4,544,000, with the promise of marriage and love. According to the EFCC, Amadi who used different aliases like Richard Smith, Mike Anderson, Richard Darwin, Jackson Miller, and Morgan Abela, was alleged to have collected the money from the woman he met online so that he could travel to Sweden to meet her and marry her. He was arraigned on a 12-count charge and count one reads: “That you, Amadi Jude Junior (alias Richard smith, Mike Anderson, Richard Darwin, Jackson Miller, Morgan Abela) between May 2014 and January 2015 in Calabar, Cross River State, within the jurisdiction of this honourable court did conspire among to commit felony with it: obtaining money by false pretence and thereby committed an offence contrary to section 8 (a) of the Advance Fee Fraud and Other Fraud Related Offences Act, 2006 and punishable under section 1 (3) of the same act.” The accused person pleaded not guilty to all the charges and Justice Obile ordered that he should be remanded in prison custody while adjourning the case till October 12, 2015, for mention.

The government should also try as much as possible to create jobs in order to reduce unemployment rate. Coz i no say na hunger dey cause dis stealing inspiration.
