An election petition tribunal had on November 7 sacked Governor Darius Ishaku of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). The Justice Danladi led tribunal declared the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate Aisha Jummai Alhassan. The PDP candidate approached the appeal court asking that the judgment of the tribunal be set aside. In its ruling today, the Appeal court upheld the election of Darius Ishaku, citing that the APC candidate has no right to question the primary election which led to Ishaku emergence. The five man panel led by Justice Abdul Aboki ruled that Ishaku’s election complied with Section 85 of the electoral act.
