Beyonce’s latest video ‘Formation‘ upset a lot of American conservatives who accused her of challenging and preaching violence against the police. Last week, the Miami police, as a way of standing against the singer said they will boycott her Formation tour in the city. Next, more police agencies lobbied for a total boycott in all the cities Bey will be performing. But the Nation of Islam has promised to protect her on those dates. Yesterday, the U.S. minister Louis Farrakhan delivered a keynote address at the Nation of Islam’s Saviours Day event in Detroit, and said that if the police agencies in the country refuse to provide Queen Bey security during her tour, the Nation of Islam will step up and do that. “You gonna picket? You’re not gonna offer police protection? But the F.O.I. will,” he said, also commending rappers like Kendrick Lamar who have promoted black culture and history and realities through their songs. And this is not the first time the Nation of Islam will protect artistes. Billboard reports that the Nation of Islam’s security agency, the Fruit of Islam, provided security for Jay Z and Jay Electronica last year. Meanwhile, the whole media drama is giving Beyonce all the promotion she needs, freely. Billboard reports she is ‘blowing up box offices‘ following the announcement of her tour.
