A person’s success depends only on him; on how hard he works in order to achieve whatever he’s aiming for.

A woman can be behind a man’s success, have impact on him: motivate him, support him, and sacrifice for him so he could do whatever he wants.

Wives of Nigerian prominent politicians have made themselves a force to reckon with.

Below are 5 probably the most influential women in our country.

1. Aisha Buhari

Aisha Buhari in Geneva

Aisha is the wife of Muhammadu Buhari, the president of Nigeria, who was inaugurated on May 29, 2015 after defeating the Goodluck Jonathan. She is a Cosmetologist and Beauty therapist.

Buhari’s wife announced her decision to be addressed as the wife of the president and not the first lady of Nigeria. Her action has been greeted with extreme repulsion.

2. Remi Tinubu

She became the first lady of Lagos state when her husband, Bola Tinubu, was elected as governor.

As First Lady, Remi Tinubu established the New Era Foundation, dedicated to establishing centres for “all round development of young ones and promote public awareness on environmental health and community service.” She is a member of the ruling party.

Tinubu’s wife is currently a seasoned senator.

3. Dolapo Osinbajo

Little was known about the wife of the vice president-elect, Dolapo Osinbajo; that is until her husband’s name was chosen as the vice presidential candidate.

Dolapo is described by many people as humble, unassuming and submissive, , She oversees the Orderly Society Trust, an NGO, formed in 2007 and dedicated to the promotion of Christian ethics and orderliness. Dolapo also wrote a book titled “They Call Me Mama”.

A practical woman, Osinbajo’s large heart and motherly care might be one of the many expected highpoints of the incumbent government

4. Toyin Saraki

Mrs. Toyin Saraki

Wife of the Senate president, Bukola Saraki is founder-president of Wellbeing Foundation Africa, an health initiative that has caught the attention of big international media houses such as Huffington Post and CNN.

5. Lara Oshiomhole

Iara Oshiomhole and Ahmed Ali, the Comptroller General of Customs.

The former model is a wife of Governor Adams Oshiomhole of the Edo state.

Mrs Oshiomhole recently launched her pet project “We Care Trust,” which focuses on welfare for orphans, environmental responsibilities and skills acquisition stem from her passion for the vulnerable.

When photos of her wedding appeared on the internet, most Nigerians believed she was just an ‘arm candy’ for the governor’. Meanwhile, her recent humanitarian activities are gradually setting her apart.

Indeed, the incumbent government may not have as much women in principal positions as the previous one, but given the nature of these women, it will only be a matter of time before their performances can affect lives of other women in Nigeria positively.

Hmm. Nice work ladies. Especially to those who got married when their husbands were not "big men!"

Who would marry a man nearly THREE TIMES her age if he was just an ordinary man not in any high position. Its like a 23 year old Nigerian man marrying a 63 year old British white woman. The WHOLE WORLD, Nigerians included will say he's after becoming a British citizen!

This is the same thing. Lara "married" because of his position as a governor in Nigeria.

But thats HER CHOICE. Some young girls love marrying older men who have had  wifes and numerous children
