Fresh violence has erupted at Okogbe community in Ahoada-West Local Government Area of Rivers State, forcing residents to flee for safety. A source, who confirmed the development to GISTMANIA, said trouble started following the murder of a man on Sunday night.
Our source, an indigene of Okogbe community said the man identified as Ngozi Obenne was shot dead by yet-to-identified gunmen at about 4am.
He said the killing of Obenne was greeted with a reprisal attack by gunmen who went about Okogbe community shooting at everybody within sight.
No official figure has been established on the number of people killed, but unconfirmed report pegged it at 9.
The Rivers State Police Command is yet to react to the development.
