Super Eagles midfielder Ogenyi Onazi has donated the N1m to the Super Falcons of Nigeria who have not been paid their salaries following their successful campaign at the 2016 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations (AWCON).
The drama behind the non-payment of their salaries took a disappointing turn as the players took to the streets this week to protest. Super Falcons have taken to the street to protest the non-payment of their salaries

Onazi who has been monitoring the situation from his base in Turkey has chosen to donate N1M to the players and N200, 000 to injured defender Onome Ebi.
Quote
“They need our love and support. I'm proud because they made it possible for us to celebrate success in Africa this year,"
the Trabzonspor of Turkey midfielder said.
The 23-year-old has also been hugely involved with making sure that the girls are paid their entitlements. It was earlier reported that the Sports Ministry invested money meant to pay the players on Treasury Bills.
According to top sources, the money (specific sum unknown) was used to buy Treasury Bills with a new generation bank which will mature in February 2017.
