Arsenal VS Crystal Palace
Sunday (01/01/2017)
17:00 (WAT)

Arsenal will look to extend their impressive Premier League record at Emirates Stadium when they welcome Sam Allardyce's Crystal Palace on New Year's Day.

The Gunners have not lost at home in the league since the opening day of the current season and will hope to close the gap to leaders Chelsea should they slip up against Stoke at Stamford Bridge on December 31.

Arsene Wenger's side boast a dominant record over the Eagles and have not lost at home to Palace since 1994. Since their return to the top flight in 2013, Palace have taken just one point from a possible 18 off the Gunners but Allardyce will hope to snatch something as he looks to lead the club clear of relegation trouble.

TEAM NEWS
Arsenal are sweating on the fitness of Theo Walcott, Kieran Gibbs and Shkodran Mustafi as they prepare to host Palace on New Year's Day.

Speaking after the 1-0 win over West Brom on Boxing Day, which Walcott missed, Arsene Wenger said: "Theo has a small calf problem, but a very small one."

Meanwhile, Shkodran Mustafi could make his first appearance since the win over Stoke on December 10, While Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is expected to be in contention and Gibbs will have a 'kick to the knee' assessed before the game.

Danny Welbeck, Per Mertesacker, Santi Cazorla and Mathieu Debuchy remain sidelined.

Palace midfield duo James McArthur and Joe Ledley missed the draw with Watford on Boxing Day and could again miss out.

Loic Remy, Connor Wickham, James Tomkins, Steve Mandanda and Bakary Sako are all still nursing injuries. Damien Delaney is suspended.
