Whatever, If she is above a certain age and says she wants to go in as someones second wife, then thats her problem but I will make sure she understands the consequences of her decision.

Except for the above reason, my answer will be NO!!!

I think we can permit such if the first wife did not have any child for her husband and maybe both of them (the man and his 1st wife) are not ready to adopt. We can also support her if the 1st wife is late. Apart from this reasons....am yet to agree with any girl who want to become a 2nd wife.

I saw a new notification about this topic and cannot but sign in to submit my comment on it. Here is what i have to say. To the question, my answer will neither be YES or NO.  Ofcourse, i will wish my daughter all the best in life but i recorgnise the fact that her fate is in the hands of God. I believe so much in destiny. Whatever you may do or refuse to do, destiny has a way of coming to play in one's life. Polygamy might be seen to be bad, but i have see those who are in it and are happy. We tend to attribute everything to religion. I have never come across a verse in the Bible where it was specifically instructed that thou shall not marry two wives. I stand to be corrected please. All we tend to be doing is following the white in all they do. I have lived with the white enough to study their life-style. Many of these white men and women are with their fifth wife or husband. And each of their marriage was not without kids. The only difference is that the men are not married to two women at the same time. African culture and values are far better than that of these people we tend to copy all the time. People should not make us look bad. We have seen those in a monogamous relationship without any joy of marriage and we have seen many in a polygamous one with all the joy and satisfaction that one can think of. For those who think it is easier in a monogamous relationship, i advice you to pray to your God not to fall into the wrong hands. You will prefer to be married to a married man than that killer monogamous relationship you find yourself. Let's stop this abhorrence for polygamy, please. It is not that terrible as people look at it.

Is not all about money, it is all about happiness. some reason Y we have 2 allow our daughter to get married 2 a married man are (1) some of the young guys are not responsible (2) The young guys out there are not ready 2 settle down with a wife, all dey want is to be a father e.g. {Baba tope, baba precious, baba keuro, baba shukura e.t.c} (3) In dis word females are more than males (4) some of the married man have the experience of taking care of wives.
There will be a time Dat forty {40} woman will be pleading just one {1} man, do u know Y?the reason is just for dem 2 answer the man name.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...
This is the situation I find myself right now, I would say the parents should realize love conquer all things, the fact that a man has a wife initially does nt mean he can nolonger fall in love with another woman... Dont get me wrong, I 'm not encouraging polygamy but I 'm just a realist, everyone has a predetermined faith which hunts us around, if your destiny is to marry two and you marry one, I can assure you that you wont find peace till you get the second woman...
Personally, I m an advocate monogamy, but from experience I think its not easy on both the parent and their daughter involved.
