A fundamentalist male sheikh has made international headlines after he told girls at a youth night that they would go to hell if they befriended non-Muslims or plucked their eyebrows.
Sheikh Mohamad Doar told a room of teenage girls in Sydney's west that they needed to stop being friends with non-believers in a lecture that also covered Islamic fashion and grooming. 'The reality is, my sisters, any friendship that is not built on the fear of Allah is only going to lead to hell fire so you need to be cautious. 'With your actions, you distance yourself from the corrupted people.' Sheikh Doar, from the Ahlus Sunnah Wal Jamaah Association, also told the forum, held at Punchbowl, that women would also be cursed by Allah if they plucked their eyebrows, waxed their body or shaved.
'You are not allowed the remove the hair of the eyebrow, it's a major sin. 'The lady who plucks her eyebrows and the one who gets them plucked, they're both cursed by Allah.' He was referring to the hadith, describing the actions of the Prophet Mohammad, as part of a question and answer session organised by Muslim charity Sisters United.
Taking questions from the girls, Sheikh Doar told them they needed to wear their hijabs loose and with no bright or colourful patterns. 'It cannot be see-through showing skin. The hijab needs to be as plain as possible,' he said. 'It cannot be an imitation of the disbeliever's dress code. It cannot be attracting to the eye. It cannot resemble the dress of men. It can't be a showing-off cloth.' He also warned them they would face criticism about their dress sense from other Muslims and kafirs, a sharia-law term for non-believers.
The sheikh's advice is generally rejected by secular Muslims, who also shun sharia law.

Sorry sheik, if you don't befriend the kafirs then how will you spread the gospel of love to them? It then means you will use violence and force to make them convert to Islam; which will then make us draw up t conclusion that "Islam is a violent religion" Please all preachers do be careful of your utterances.

You see the heading of this article is very misleading. The prophet of Allah during his lifetine has a cordial relationship with the non-believers they visit him and he also visits them. He also eat from their meal and they also take from his meal. and he enjoyed on us do the same. though in the past if you want to know islam you look at people practising islam, now you have to study islam before you can judge it. But when you have a friend of the same faith with you, He correct you when you are going wrong and you also strenghtens him in return, but if he/she is of the other faith none of you will be able to each others faith. Well this does not deter us from living together happily. because the prophet muhammad says that he is not a believer a person who his neighbour is not safe with.

im a muslim but wat this sheik said is totally rubbish is better you relocate to muslim country our prophet Mohamed may peace be upon him never said something like that infact most of his friends were non muslim but because of his atitude most of them convert to muslim someone like seyidina ALLI which he latter became fourth in command ,pls sheik dont comfuse many young ppl that dont know much abt islam dont put hatred of non muslim to their heart its unfair

what many sheikh suppose to be preaching is unity between muslim and muslim and between muslim and non muslim that is what we need most now because in islam there are many lopehole diff sect in islam claming superiority than other sect and quran 6 vs 159 to 160 comdem any kind of sect in islam that islam is one no sect because we have many sect that is why diff sect misinterpret quran preach hatred form terror group so mr sheikh preach unity and forgiving with peace ok
