The General Overseer of Living Faith Church, Bishop David Oyedepo has warned the federal and state governments against attempt to compel secondary school students of Christian backgrounds to offer Islamic Studies.
Oyedepo gave the warning immediately after an emergency meeting held by the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, PFN, in Lagos on Thursday.
Addressing newsmen at the PFN Headquarters in Isolo, Lagos, Oyedepo said government had no right to force subjects on anybody.
He added that by stopping Christian Religion Studies CRS, at the Senior Secondary School level, it automatically meant that it would not be embraced at the tertiary institutions.
He said,

“You cannot force our students to study Islamic Studies or Arabic Studies.”

What is this country turning to....it means we will still stop physis and chemistry., even maths. However, what they should ask us to speak should be arabic and not English again. Who are this people with absolute ignorant. Na wa o o o.

There is no way they will force anybody to study Islamic language in Nigerian schools. That is one of the reasons why Nigeria is on the verge of disintegration now. It would have been nice to learn the language only if they have been showing us the good part of Islamism. With all we know about their intercultural relations, I think we need to leave them to be on their own, with their own language.

All Nigerians and Africans home and abroad should be lined up and shot with high electric current to wake us up from our slept of death. We busy fighting each other about the question of learning about God or Allah Who will learn about my God here is Nigeria. The christianized are all about the bible and God of Abraham Isaac and Israel and the Muslimized talk's about Allah. We love fighting for other gods which are no God. But no Nigerians has woken up to fighting our culture and God.

I would love to study and learn about Hausa language and culture, and all other languages in Nigeria and Africa for that matter. I am from the south, It pains me daily that I cannot read and write any of our great languages whether it be Yoruba, Hausa, Ibo, Urhobo We are talking about religious studies, whose reLigon it is? Arabs and Europeans We must all go directly to God, through our own saviour and not through foreign saviour the Christ nor foreign messenger prophet Mohamed We kill each other in the name of foreign gods

Religion is a culture of a people or race here in Nigeria we must develop the concept of our own religion through which all men and women will and must be saved. Nigerians, Africans please come together The brothers and sisters I have are Nigerians and Africans home and away, not some lip service by profess by Muslims and Christians. How can we love other culture and people when have not loved our own country. This is unforgivable sin. I don't worry about my English grammar As English is not my 5th,,,, nor 100th language.
