Alexis Sanchez is set to make his first appearance of the season as Arsenal face Liverpool at Anfield.
The forward's future with the Gunners continues to be speculated upon as he begins his final contracted season with the club, and has been sidelined with an abdominal injury since his delayed return to pre-season training.
Liverpool are dealing with their own reportedly wantaway star with Philippe Coutinho, a target for Barcelona, still out with a back injury, but have impressed in his absence and secured qualification to the Champions League on Wednesday.
The Gunners fell to a dramatic 4-3 defeat at Anfield on the opening day of last season, a fixture where Alexis was frustrated after being left on the bench, and another loss on Sunday would already put pressure on Wenger after last weekend's loss to Stoke City.
Team news
Liverpool are again without Coutinho with Klopp confirming the Barcelona target is still "on our injury list" with a back problem, even though he looks set to join up with Brazil next week.
Klopp is hopeful that both Emre Can and Trent Alexander-Arnold can overcome minor issues they sustained in midweek against Hoffenheim, while Georginio Wijnaldum is set to return to England after attending the birth of his child in Holland.
Nathaniel Clyne (hamstring) and Adam Lallana (thigh) remain absent.
Alexis Sanchez is in line to make his first appearance of the season having been absent with an abdominal strain, as is defender Laurent Koscielny who returns from a three-match ban.
Wenger has a largely-fit squad to choose from, although long-term absentee Santi Cazorla (ankle) still sidelined.
