City secured a superb 1-0 away win at champions Chelsea before the international break, but Stoke have proved tricky customers with a win against Arsenal and a 2-2 draw with Manchester United.

Mark Hughes' Potters remain an enigma due to their inconsistent form, but the former City manager will be hoping to spring a shock on Pep Guardiola at Etihad Stadium despite City's attacking might.

Start time

Man City host Stoke at Etihad Stadium with kick-off scheduled for 3pm on Saturday, October 14.

Team news

City will still be without Sergio Aguero as the striker recuperates from a broken rib following a car crash in the Netherlands.

Fabian Delph withdrew from the England squad due to a hamstring problem, while Kevin de Bruyne is a slight doubt for Belgium with a similar injury.

Vincent Kompany could again miss out with a calf complaint, while Benjamin Mendy is a long-term absentee with a cruciate knee ligament injury.

Bruno Martins Indi and Ryan Shawcross are both doubts for Stoke with groin and back injuries respectively, while Joe Allen could miss out after picking up a suspected concussion in Wales' defeat to the Republic of Ireland.

Predicted line-ups

Man City starting XI: Ederson; Walker, Stones, Otamendi, Danilo, Gundogan, Fernandinho, Silva, Sterling, Jesus, Sane

Stoke starting XI: Butland, Zouma, Cameron, Wimmer, Diouf, Sobhi, Fletcher, Pieters, Shaqiri, Chuopo-Moting, Berahino
