The General Overseer of The Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, has spoken again on the raging tithe controversy sparked by controversial On-Air-Personality, Daddy freeze.
This time he said God himself convinced him that tithing was right for Christians.
Recall that in a previous reaction to the tithing controversy, Adeboye warned Christians against the dangers of non- compliance to paying of tithe.
However, the cleric, on Sunday, 3rd December, 2017 edition of his Daily Devotional, titled: “Open Heavens”, said the command to pay tithes on one’s earnings simply places a demand on the Christian to trust God.
Writing on the topic, ‘Tithing Is Trusting’, Adeboye said:
Quote
“To experience exploits in your life, you must have a personal relationship with God. You must believe that He lives and love Him with all your heart. You must also learn to trust in Him.
“The command to pay tithes on your earnings simply places a demand on you to trust God. Your response to this command shows the level of trust you have in Him.
“If you can pay your tithes correctly, it shows that you trust God for your livelihood, but if you find it difficult to be faithful in doing this, it simply shows that you trust more in your earning than in God to sustain you.
“After I became newly born again and we were taught to pay tithes, I laughed and said in my mind, ‘These people do not know that I am a mathematician. If 100% is not enough for me, how can 90% be enough after I have paid 10% as tithe? Thank you very much! Even though these people are not educated, they still want to use their smartness to take 10% of my income from me. Let them try and take it’. _ “However, down the line, God convinced me by Himself and I observed remarkable changes in my life.”

Adeboye has prooved that he is an unrepented theive by this single statement. He is short of verbal tricks hence this very noticeable trick of mathematician. Read the book of Malachi very well, was tithes money? N beside, was it being paid by christians? There was patriarchal age, mosaical age and now, the Christian age. Did Christ in the Christian age commanded us to pay tithes? Tithe was paid to the Levi in the mosaic age and theses Levi got no inheritance like houses, schools, hositals, lands n so on, their main job was priesthood and performing sacrifices in the house of God. The 11 tribes were directed to pay tithes to only this one tribe, the Levi, and this was during the mosaic age, if were to pay tithe in this Christian age, Christ would have commanded us to do so because God says He has made Christ heir of all things, that we in this Christian age should hear him in totality, He thought us about giving, breaking of bread in remembrance of him and so on but he never asked us to pay tithe. Adeboye, how many times did I call u, read ur bible very well and stop the brainwash, it's too much for u oooo

in my own perspective, tithing is not bad. but are the tith money received truly been used accordingly such as sharing part of it to the poor, giving food to the members that don't have and so on..

u are the one that need understand...let me not waste my energy i know u don't even pay tithe...that why is easy 4 u to support those men of dogs.. those who use to pay their tithe know why they are demanding what their tithe is been use 4 or why their Pastors put most of their energy to force them to pay...even when the bible did not ask them to do so..

@kacylee, please try and have time to read your email, 2 Timothy 3:16 says: All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: Dont not conclude on your pastor teachings, find time to read your bible for confirmation. Check from the Ministration of Jesus, Mathew, Mark, Luke and John if you will see a direct command on tithe. From Jesus Christ, we came about Christianity, if you are sure you are a christian, then tithe is a day light robbery on your part, rather, you can give to the poor, affect people positively with your life by giving. You can give to the church 5%, 10%, 20%, 30% or so as long as its not with grudges, but cheerfully, but dont do that in the name of tithe but giving.
