Few days ago, Laura Ikeji held an event in which she launched her book “How to make money on Instagram – The brand influencer guide“. The book reportedly sold out almost immediately as friends and well-wishers present at the event purchased lots of copies.
However, via an Instagram post that has since been deleted, Laura appeared to shade some of her celebrities friends who didn’t attend the book launch simply because they were preoccupied with the event celebrating Actress Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde who clocked 40.
In the post which is mainly direct to Actor Deyemi Okanlawon, she wrote:
Dear Deyemi, a day where most of my celebrity friends were hurrying to #Omotola4point0, u came through for me, u anchored my event and made sure I made enough cough cough lol. U touched a soul today baby. U did. God bless you @deyemitheactor
Her post clearly shows that she feels her event was eclipsed by Omotola’s birthday celebration cos many notable celebrities, who are friends of her, opted for the birthday event instead of her book launch.
Some of the celebrities and prominent Nigerians at Omotola’s event include 2face Idibia, King Sunny Ade, Shina Peters, D’banj, Tiwa Savage, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, Senior Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on Sustainable Development Goals, Adejoke Orelope Adefulire, The Esama of Benin Kingdom, Chief Gabriel Osawaru Igbinedion, The Otunba Adekunle Ojora and wife, The Erelu Ojuolape Ojora, Senator Ben Murray Bruce, Bashorun Dele Momodu, Mr. Tony Elumelu and wife, Awele Elumelu, British High Commissioner to Nigeria, Paul Arkwright, Otunba Oyewole Fasawe, Debola Williams among others. etc.
Not only did they attend her event, they also shared pictures of it on various social media platforms thereby giving it a huge trend on social media which lasted for days.
