The Nigerian senate have decide to carry out a thorough investigation on claims made by the International Amnesty on reports that the Nigerian army segxwally abused the right of women of the Internal Displaced Person's (IDP's) in Borno State.

The senators have set up an ad-hoc committee that would investigate the allegations made against the army.

The motion which was moved by the All Progressive Congress (APC) Kaduna State, Shehu Sani, he revealed that it's important for the lawmakers to look into the case.

“Scores of women described how soldiers and Civilian JTF members have used force and threats to rape women in satellite camps, including by taking advantage of hunger to coerce women to become their ‘girlfriends’, which involved being available for sex on an ongoing basis,” the report released in May reads.

“This report is not only a thesis by AI, it contains names identity, photograph, instances and personal confessions of victims of rape, starvation and torture.
