The Consumers Protection Council Nigeria in in collaboration with NAFDAC just shut down Krispy Kreme Doughnuts VI store following regulatory issues with shelf life of their raw materials.
According to the Director General of CPC, Babatunde Irukera, the sealing of Krispy Kreme was because of serious regulatory violations - such as using of expired doughnut mix and fillings. Further enforcement activities is to follow. More photos below.

Update - Following an inspection carried out by the Director General of the Consumer Protection Council (CPC), Babatunde Irukera and some of his officers, in Krispy Kreme Lagos, the council boss in collaboration with NAFDAC has ordered the immediate shut down of the outlet. . . . The CPC Nigeria team inspected Kripsy Kreme’s warehouse and found out that it is filled with raw materials that have ‘extension dates’ . Products with expired manufacturing dates were found but the staff said the manufacturers granted them an “extension” of expiration, so they put new manufacturing dates on the products. Their operations was Shut down for ‘false entry & self-validation’ of raw materials. . . . The American Owed company invested $7million in its doughnut theatre in Nigeria, and recruited about 200 Nigerians in its workforce. They started operations in March 2018, at the Ikeja City Mall in Lagos, and opened another outlet in the Victoria Island axis in May.
