This is according to reporter Isimi Odeh who's currently in the state to give live updates, see his post below!
Daily Post also reported that the bye-election to fill the vacant seat for Kogi/Koto-Karfe Federal Constituency, was also characterized by buying of votes from the electorate. At some polling units visited in Lokoja, the Kogi State capital, some political parties were spotted inducing voters with money ranging from N3,000, N5000, N10,000, to win their votes.
Voters, who could not get physical cash, were given food items such as onions, tomato paste all packed inside a small bag crested with the insignia of the party they were expected to vote for during the exercise. There was however massive turnout of voters and huge deployment of security operatives for a hitch-free exercise.
Polling units such as Lokoja Local Government secretariat, Bishop Crowther School, Lokoja Ward C, Yaraji open space, Felele primary school, and Inuwa Ndagaza, all had their fair share of vote buying.
At Inuwa Ndagaza polling unit, which happens to be the polling unit of the immediate former Speaker, who is contesting under the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Alfa Umar Ahmed, a senatorial aspirant for Kogi West under the ruling party was allegedly spotted at the polling unit alongside some security operatives in an hilux van wooing people to vote for the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.
It was however said that the aspirant was chased out of the polling unit, when it was discovered that he was distributing money to some electorate to vote for the ruling party in the state.

What will this solve, we want long-term solutions, we want solutions that aim to solve problems permanently, such solutions include education, electric power. Let's wake up, stop this hunger dependency that has been programmed upon the people, don't sell your future and your children's future to greedy people.

this is aimed to blind you, it will never make life better, it wont make your life easier, it will not give you oppurtunities, it will not cause the gradual growth in positive development.
Their aim is: 1) It will make you more dependent. 2) more stupid 3) more controllable 4) More useless.

Instead of pepper and salt, we want to have access to opportunities, to education, to employment, to project on ground they are doing in the community, we want to have access to their blueprints and prototype for the development of the nations, in four years, where are we going to, in the last four years what have we achieved, what have we benefitted.

Create electricity, then industries, take the youths, educate children and oppose them to industries, time is valuable, we should not waste our valuable time. Free education, remove those almajiris from the street, make your economy dynamic, such that not everybody is a doctor or a lawyer, but everybody is happy to do his work, because it is what they want, create the environment that is conducive, do this, instead of wasting peoples productivity and their time.

Apc gave away those goodies after the voting was over, and not before. It was a way of showing their appreciation for those who came out to vote not minding who they voted for.

Elections in Nigeria would only become fair and free if any law abhors candidates and their supporters from converging at the polling stations. As it is done in the civilized world, candidates should only monitor the pollings and progress of elections from their campaign headquarters - completely far away from any polling booths. Also, INEC and all the security operatives must stop taking sides, they must maintain neutrality and only designate agents to monitor discrepancies. Lastly but not the least, security officers caught colluding the electioneering should be discharged of their duties and imprisoned for 10 - 15years.
