"Hold My Mom and Dad Responsible" - ABU Student, Aisha Leaves Note As She Commits Suicide

Ashiat Abdulganiyu, a 300 Level student of the Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, Kaduna State, has committed suicide by drinking poison.

Ashiat took her own life in the early hours of today at her Samaru, Zaria home, shortly after hanging out with her friends and updating her WhatsApp stories, telling her friends: “I love y’all” and saying: “Rest girl... You need to rest”

However, in a note left behind, the deceased blamed her mom for tagging her a witch. Her suicide note reads:

Just like I said, If I am no more please hold my family especially my mum and dad responsible. I have tried to be the best I can be, Stayed award from them just because they blame me for their mistakes and they cant love, help and take care of me like their own. My mum has made life a living hell for me only because she is bipolar and frustrated. Accusing me of being a witch, trying to bill her and being a cursed child even though my brother is responsible for my education and upkeep. The only think she helps me with is my feeding money. I have gone out of my way to take care of my mum by giving her food and money but I still end up being her problems. My brother cant stick to his promise anymore bes he feels I am not his responsibility and I have my own family. I hope and believe that now that I am gone, It will bring them relieve and happiness.

I am so sorry Collins, I had to leave you this way, Maryam Olayemi you have beein more than a bestie to me. I am also sorry to all my friends and well wishesers, I love happy but I'm nothing but a broken child. I dont believe in God anymore, cos I cant see my purpose anymore. I Love you all so much.

Chai my God , why didn't anyone come to her aid , what a world we live in..
This should be a lesson to other parents who uses some abusive words on their children, correct them them if they go the wrong way, Stop tagging someone a witch.

If they will result in killing themselves instead of finding solutions to their problems. Alot of people suffer more and never killed themselves, killing while depressed is a western thing. I suffer from anxiety, depression, bipolar yet never thought of killing myself in USA.  My white girl friend suffer from that and she makes attempt all the time for killing. We watch too much youtube, online shit and that makes us copy what the white people does. In a population of 155 million Nigerians,  some cant eat or feed their kids but we see them thrive to be successful ,hustle more than anyone to make it. Bottom line is, if you kill yourself out of depression or anxiety in Africa then I dont feel sorry for you except you are in a war country,. We go through alot even here in everyday in USA and never for once do we think of killing ourselves .
