There has been this age long argument on who is supposed to visit a couple's home first when they give birth to assist the woman get back on her feet and so on. This visitation is a deeply rooted practice in many African cultures, however they all most certainly do not agree on which side of the inlaws should visit first. some people think the mother (familly) of the husband is soppused to make the first visit as it is in the Yoruba tradition (because the woman now belongs to the husband's family) or the father's family (mother) should visit first in the Igbo tradition - however in your view what do you think? is any of these visitations necessary, if yes, which family do you think should visit first?
