Jesus is a human being (and a messenger of God as other messengers, like Lot, Adam, Moses, Muhammad, David, etc) not God. As such He is not the one to answer one's prayers. It is only Allah who answer prayers. Wherever you are/find yourself, Allah is close to you and will answer your prayers as soon as you pray.

...but before entering the mosque, Muslims make ablution, washing their faces, hands and feet..

AS YOU CAN SEE PAUL, MOSES, AARON PURIFIED THEMSELVES WHICH IS AN ACT WE MUSLIMS DO AS COMMANDED BY GOD ALMIGHTY....
