The woman, according to a source who refused to disclose her name, was sleeping inside the family house in the village when the criminals came calling around 10 pm.
The source narrated that the grand mother who was the only occupant of the expanse building had already gone to sleep at the hour the hoodlums called.
He said they (men of the underworld) knocked persistently for the old woman to open the door to her room, but that she refused.
However, the abductors forced their way in and met the elderly woman fast asleep and carried her from her bed into a waiting vehicle and sped off to an unknown destination.
Also taken along by the hoodlums was a ladies motorcycle, which was said to be used by the grand children of the woman when they are in the village for local errands.
Already, the hoodlums had opened a channel of discussions with family members of the woman and demanded an undisclosed amount as ransom before she could be released.
