Many times, an affair serves to fill an empty emotional void. Yes It can. But both parties have to let go the past and concentrate on the future in order to make it work. And if that fails, they should all just have 3 somes with the other partners

At times it does work out , but many of them end up being one of those relationship that end half way cos both of them started just to be there for each as a result of betrayal and emotional pain they have experienced. All in the name of sympathy and to assuage feelings of loneliness which the left partner has created in their life
