Another senseless post over-emphasising the importance of marriage, just after the other senseless Weird MC post. Is that the only thing that Nigerian youths dream about these days is to get married? It is only in this part of the world that we still see getting married as an achievement.

The reason Igbo can not marry in time is that,We are wise and we understand that marriage is not easy just like that you have to pass many procedures and you can never Jump any Procedures,and we always understand that we marry only once in life time,for that reason before you marry you have to take time and think very well,and its well noted that the way someone that is 36 years old understand life is not same with someone that is 26 years old,We Igbo did not like kids marriage maybe when we marry today next day story will come out,

Hmmm... see as people just dey provoke for this post in ethnic defence. Na the girls wey dey yarn "marriage is not by force" and the likes sef dey baffle me pass. Admitted it isn't but that's healthy when its more of the exception than the rule.

Truth is if a sample survey were carried out among the three major ethnic groups, data collected would most likely would show that the tribe in question has the greater number of people that marry within an older age group than the average. Igbo men don't marry early usually cos they want to hammer first and prove a point. Igbo women sometimes don't marry as early as girls from the other two tribes either and sometimes it's cos they are waiting for the "hammered man" to come and marry them.

I think it's the same reason why its not until recent the age difference between Igbo couples used to be much. Where a man in his late fourties marries a girl in her mid or early 20's. Cos he took all that time waiting to hammer and she found him when he had hammered.

It's not like there's something soo wrong with it. I guess the poster just wanted some liht shed on this?

Anyway, I've spoken in general from my personal observations and admit that I have nt spoken for all cases and there myt be inaccuracies in what I have had to say.

WE still have individual reasons why a trend is followed.
