Liverpool
Liverpool, who have dropped just two points all season, host Manchester City, the side whom they are six points clear of. A win would give Liverpool a mammoth nine-point lead over their rivals and would see them be at least eight points clear by the end of the weekend.
Joel Matip is out but his centre-back partner Virgil van Dijk and midfielder Jordan Henderson are both available despite missing training on Thursday. Nathaniel Clyne and Xherdan Shaqiri are still sidelined.
Predicted XI: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Van Dijk, Lovren, Robertson; Fabinho, Henderson, Wijnaldum; Salah, Firmino, Mane.
Manchester City
If City win, then the title race is well and truly on. Their comeback win over Southampton was somewhat less impressive than Liverpool’s but the fact that they are showing similar levels of resolve will encourage Pep Guardiola.
The big news is Ederson will miss the trip to Anfield, meaning Bravo will start in goal.
Rodri and Aymeric Laporte are still injured, while David Silva is also unlikely to be fit. Guardiola has something of a selection headache up front as Gabriel Jesus and Sergio Aguero both seek to get the nod.
Predicted XI: Bravo; Walker, Otamendi, Stones, Mendy; Fernadinho, Gundogan, De Bruyne; Bernardo Silva, Sterling; Aguero
Of the last 40 shots on target that Bravo has faced in the Premier League, he’s only saved 19 and conceded a goal with 21 of them. The Opta expected goals on target tally for these 40 shots was just 12.6.
