The Bayelsa State Police Command on Thursday confirmed the burning to ashes of two alleged armed robbers who went to rob a POS center and were caught by an angry mob.
Confirming the incident, the police public relations officer of the command, Asinim Butswat told New Telegraph that: “I’m aware of the incident but I’m awaiting the true details from the Divisional police officer. I will issue a statement soon.”

The alleged robbers were said to have been caught, butchered and burnt in their car along Green Villa Road, Biogbolo, Yenagoa.
New Telegraph learnt that luck ran out of two of them when they went to rob a POS point on the street with a Lexus car.

While they were trying to make away, an angry mob descended on them, cut them into pieces and set them ablaze inside the car.
However authorities of the state Police Command condemned the mob action.
The Commissioner of Police, Uche Anozia has ordered for an investigation and said that those responsible for the act will be arrested and prosecuted.
