The young female doctor who suspected the first deadly coronavirus case in Nigeria has been revealed. The Ogun state government identified the doctor as Dr. Amarachukwu Karen Allison who works at Lafarge Cement Company.

The state's ministry of health on Saturday, March 21, took steps to appreciate the doctor for her brilliant efforts.

The Ogun State government has taken to social media to praise the heroics of a young Nigerian medical doctor, Amarachukwu Karen Alison, who dictated the index case of Coronavirus in Nigeria.


In a statement, the Ogun State government wrote , The Ogun State government appreciates the young female doctor who suspected the first index case in Nigeria, in our state, Dr. Amarachukwu Karen Alison, of Lafarge  Nigeria. Her singular brilliance led to early diagnoses and rapid containment of the first covid 19 infection.

The brain and beauty then replied in these words “I want to thank God almighty for intuition and knowledge and also the safety of my teammates and I who worked together at the time.
