Nigerian US based gay activist, Edafe Okporo, who came out publicly to announce he is gay and happy about his segxwally orientation shared his experience while serving in NYSC camp. According to him, he was attacked by mob perhaps because he's a gay.

See his post below;

Quote
I would like to share a story with everyone, this is a story of resilience. This picture was taken three days after I suffered a brutal mob attack that almost took my life.

This uniform, I'm wearing. Is worn by most Nigerians as a mark of completion of tertiary education and a federal mandated experience for all graduates of Nigeria Universities.

It took me seven years to complete my bachelor, one year in prescience and 5 years in college plus a one year wait for this uniform. After this seven years of working hard, I almost lost everything when a mob kidnapped me.
I survived that night by the grace of the universe who wanted me to be here today to tell this story. I know were going through a difficult time, most of our forecast has be shaken, things at this point really seems like we are moving backwards but I want to assure you because I have experienced times like this before.

Coming to the United States and being detained in immigration detention for me then was like all Hope's was lost. From my experience having this difficult moments can be beneficial if we can focus on the positive things ahead of us. Hope is the only thing we can clinge onto right now, if we can do this and remain resilient we will overcome.
Thank you for reading, now snap back and continue your day.
