The governor of Narobi, Mike Mbuvi Sonko has been criticized for his plan to include Hennessy cognac in his Coronavirus relief package for the poor and also claiming that the alcoholic drink kills the Covid-19 coronavirus.

The Governor shared a photo of one of the relief packages showcasing the Hennessy on his social media handle captioning "We are giving some small bottles of Hennessy in the food packs that we are giving to our people,"

Sanko also shared another video spotting claiming a WHO research proved that alcohol plays a very vital in killing the coronavirus. This claim has been debunked Sanko's claim, the world’s biggest luxury goods group which makes Hennessy cognac, said Sonko was wrong.

Kenyan officials said: “The consumption of our brand or any other alcoholic beverage does not protect against the virus,”
