Madagascar Gets Herbal Cure To Coronavirus, Ooni of Ife Oba Ogunwusi Angrily Reacts

The Ooni of Ife, Enitan Ogunwusi, has reacted angrily to Madagascar’s breakthrough on coronavirus.

The monarch exploded on Twitter as he recalled his appeal to Nigeria to use natural methods to find a cure.

Madagascar has started exporting its herbal solution to African countries.

It launched the drink in April, after weeks of testing on no fewer than 20 people.

The President’s Chief of Staff, Lova Ranoromaro, made the announcement.

In his reaction, Oba Ogunwusi said it’s a shame that Nigerians downplayed suggestions, including his, on the potency of herbal medicine.

On March 30, the monarch charged federal, state governments and researchers to consider “natural elements from nature” as they find a cure for coronavirus.

On Wednesday, he tweeted: “It’s a shame. The Ooni prescribed Herbal Medicine for Nigerians, they didn’t believe him, told him he is not a doctor of what he inherited from his ancestors. Now another country took it up and also upgraded it -Madagascar.

“China as a Nation used herbal means to cure more than 70% of their COVID-19 cases. It’s on record. Going forward in this country, let us use local means to proffer local solutions to all our problems.”

Tanzania and Comoros have ordered the importation of the Madagascar tonic.

Last weekend, the island shipped the drink to Guinea-Bissau.

President Umaro Sissoco Embalo was at the airport to oversee the cargo.

When they are busy chasing foreign dollar loan and Abacha's money which they allocate to themselves, you want them to listen to you. Oni, by now you should know  the type of people running the affairs of Nigeria

What stops Oni or other Nigerians from preparing their own herbs?. people drink their own concoctions at home. Did the government ask anyone not to drink whatever they prepared in their homes? What stops Oni from looking around his domain for anyone with Covid-19 and try the herbs he prepared on them? Do something on your own first and the federal government will take it from there. Use what u have to cure one or two people before u come out to make noise about it. Most Nigerians prefer to go to a herbal doctor. As Oni, he can use his power to scout for any positive covid-19 case and try his concoction. All this are noise.

I had wanted to say what you just said.
As a king, he must first of all prepare the herbs, look for few persons to try it on, and from there people will be looking for the herbs whereby curing more people,
then and then he can make noise about it. The said Madagascar President even used it on his auntie that tested positive to the virus and later became negative after
taking the prepared herbs.

... Exactly. After all, as an Oba, he is also servant of his people. He should have mobilize some native doctors and try some experiments with native herbs.
