The Federal High Court, sitting in the Lagos judicial division, has ordered in the suit between Bukola Saraki and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) that the confiscated houses of the ex-Senator be returned to him as EFCC has failed to provide a cogent reason on why the properties should be confiscated.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had earlier claimed that Bukola Saraki used the proceeds of crime to purchase the house. However, the court held that the commission failed to adduce any evidence to show this. EFCC’s application for final forfeiture has been dismissed accordingly.
