I guess, you are right. She is the first lady. So, we expect her to be able to pick up the Nigerian constitution and not loose her mind. If she is making such basic mistakes in her grammar, we should be afraid. It means the Attorney General of the federation can easily blind her with english.

The common man on the street can take 'the mastery of English' for granted. However, it is troubling to find our law makers and public office holders floundering - especially if they are at the top of the hierarchy of government.

@poster, you must not forget that she is not the man. She is not president. She is the president's wife. Let us swallow that fact as the panacea for our dissatisfaction.

English is a beautiful language. She has a decent structure. Every public servant is expected to have a decent command. Every police man is expected to be fluent in good English. This expectation will be hungry for as long as the constitution that binds us is in English.

The fact dat is internet access is cheap doesn't mean we should abuse it by using it to do busy bodies. ;Leave the woman alone, afterall, she didn't contest for the position of a first lady, even if she did; it is not big grammar dat matters, but the impact you make on the people...
