Out of the 15 children earlier shortlisted for the awards, three brilliant kids made the topmost award list and were presented with the
honour of valor.

In his welcome address at the event, Deepak Singhal, Chief Executive Officer, Dufil Prima Foods Plc, said the children are honoured for the good they have done to our national life by their heroic actions.
“Many times I’ve tried to find an adequate definition of heroism, of
bravery. I wanted to find a description that would cover these extraordinary deeds that would tell us something about the lives of theselittle children before whom we stand in admiration and awe. Feats of their
extraordinary courage and determination in situations that ordinarily would bring fear, discouragement and self pity are almost incomprehensible to us but they also put us all to the test ”.

According to Singhal, the main aim of the leading noodles manufacturer is to show the bravery of these youngsters to the world and inspire other children in emulating these deeds of bravery.
“This award is a reflection of the importance and belief of our company in the extraordinary qualities of the Nigerian child which must never be ignored but which must be celebrated. We at Dufil are identifying with
these acts of courage so every Nigerian child could be inspired to live
the life of a hero, a life of selflessness and bravery.”

He stated that Nigeria is no doubt indeed fortunate and blessed to have young people with extraordinary abilities and the milk of human kindness flowing in them. He said the future of this great country is secured with
them as citizens and that’s why the company believes they need to be
recognised and celebrated publicly to encourage their selfless acts of heroism and patriotism.
