There was jubilation among Nigerian soldiers after the exit of former Chief of staff Burataii. On Tuesday, President Muhammadu Buhari appointed Rear Admiral A. Z. Gambo as the new CNS. In a viral video, scores of soldiers were in a celebration mood as they screamed, jumped, hugged each and fired guns in the air. It was gathered that officers and men of the Armed Forces across the country received news of the ex-military heads’ departure with joy.

Citing insecurity, most Nigerians, including stalwarts of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), repeatedly urged Buhari to remove the Service Chiefs.
