
The leadership of the Osun State branch of the National Union of Road Transport Workers on Wednesday endorsed the state governor, Adegboyega Oyetola, for second term in office.
Speaking at the endorsement rally held at the Nelson Mandela Freedom Park, Osogbo, Chairman of Osun NURTW, who also doubles as South-West chairman of the union, Mr Olalekan Folorunso, explained union decided to endorse Oyetola after assessing his remarkable achievements in the last three years.
Folorunso, who was joined at the event by the Chairman of the Lagos Council of NURTW, Musiliu Akinsanya, added that the union had benefitted from the government policies.
He said, “The union at its monthly meeting highlighted the performance of the governor despite the little resources available to the state; hence our resolve to support our governor to lead the state for another term of four years.”
Reacting, Oyetola, assured them that his administration would continue to invest in human and infrastructural development for the benefits of different associations in the state.
But the opposition Peoples Democratic Party in a statement by its Director of Media, Oladele Bamiji, advised Oyetola to face governance.
The statement reads partly,
“Our great party will continue to appreciate the constant feedbacks and collaborative resolve to rescue Osun State for the good of all and in the interest of the good people of the state.”
