Nigeria’s Women Basketball team, D’Tigress, have clinched the last qualifying spot for the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup in Australia.

This they did by beating African rivals, Mali 73-69.

After suffering an opening day defeat to China 90-76 on Thursday, the Nigerian side rallied to beat world No.5 France in a great comeback game on Friday to claim a 67-65 win.

China and France had booked their spots at the World Cup due to their superior point differential.

The tournament will take place in Sydney Australia between Thursday, 22 September and Saturday, 1 October this year.
