Nigerian students have expressed frustration as the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU and declared a nationwide strike on Monday.
The President of ASUU, declared the strike during a press conference, Prof. Emmanuel Osodeke, following the Federal Government’s inability to implement previous agreements.
According to ASUU National President, the strike will be “comprehensive and total”

Students have taken to social media lamenting the pains of attending public universities in Nigeria.
Some lamented about rent while others called out the present government for failure to meet demands.
Here are some comments gathered by DAILY POST from Twitter;
@Kizito_CFC “At this point going to public universities is a waste of time you fit have children before you graduate. Make una go learn skill wey go give you money during this time. Bless.”
@Fasoye_Mide “I remember the last warning strike was for 1 week and then it lasted for 6 months. Omo 1 month warning strike???”
@Dan Akali “Warning strike for one month then full strike action can last for one year,On a serious note, this is just to reflect that the FG doesn’t take anyone serious. Continuously postponing promises you made to your staff/universities.”
