Nigeria Super Eagles Loses to Ghana, Fail to Qualify For CHAN 2023

Nigeria failed to qualify for next year’s Championship of African Nations (CHAN) next year in Ivory Coast, after losing out to Ghana.

The CHAN Eagles lost on penalties to the Black Galaxies this evening at the MKO Abiola Stadium after winning 2-0 win at regulation time.

Zulkifilu Muhammed gave Nigeria the lead in the 76th minute.

With time running out, Chuks Akuneto netted the second goal for the hosts in the last minute of added time.

Recall that Ghana had won by the same margin in Cape Coast thus forcing the battle into penalties which the visitors won

The Super Eagles equally lost to Black Stars of Ghana at the same venue in the World Cup play-offs to fall out of the World cup party in Qatar.
