A 15-year-old girl, Esther Moses, broke down in tears before an Osogbo magistrate’s court on Monday when she admitted stabbing her husband, David Moses, to death during an argument over N1,000.
The teenager, who appeared before a Magistrate, Mr. Olalekan Ijiyode, was accused of killing her husband at 9am on November 19, 2010 in Arike Village, Ilesa, Osun State.
When asked by Ijiyode why she stabbed her husband, the suspect said she did not realise that it would lead to his death.
She said her husband took N1,000 belonging to her, recalling that she had warned him to return her money before they began fighting.
According to the charge sheet, the alleged offence was contrary to Section 319(1) of the Criminal Code, Cap 34, Volume II, Laws of Osun State of Nigeria, 2003.
The mother of two was not represented by a lawyer during the proceedings.
She said the family of her husband had turned against her and her children as a result of the incident. She said her inlaws had refused to take custody of the children, forcing her family to care for them.
The court could not take her plea because magistrate courts have no jurisdiction over murder cases.
Ijiyode, who cautioned the suspect against acting in anger in future, advised persons present in court to learn a lesson from her predicament.
The magistrate advised the suspect to get a lawyer to represent her during her trial at the Osogbo High Court.
He ordered that Esther be remanded in Ilesa prison and later adjourned the case till February 23, 2011, for mention.

is so annoying,i can't imagine such kind of thing like that happening.just because of N1,000 she has the god's to stab her husband.smh is so un common of a normal human being to do such an evil act

she is a stupid girl for stabbing her husband to death doesn't she know that what belong to her is for her husband too once ur married any thing u people have is for both of u nothing like my money this or that . what she did was very wrong even if the man took d money without her conscent but being that she know quiet well that it is her husband there is a way she suppose discuss with him in peace becos no matter what d man is d head of d family. let her face d consiquences may be from there she learnt her lesson a girl of 15 yrs in marriage cos if she is released she might marry another man so that same thing will not repeat it self life does not hve duplicate.

but she is too young to to understand this, what on earth will make a man to take up 15 years old teenager as a wife?

their is a lesson to be learnt from this incident, anger doesn't know who is who, but when did has been done, then you will now realize what you have done, advice to all, let try as much as possible to control our anger, may almighty God be our guide.

From my Statistics,if this girl 15yrs and has 2 kids already,that means she must have got married to the guy at the age 12 or 13 to be able to have 2 kids at her 15yrs of age.
A girl of 13yrs getting married to a man and no be say the man is capable of caring for her,is truly abnormal.At this age she should be in her secondary school,not even university because she is too tender to the university level then to talk of marriage.
Marriage should be an institution between two matured partner,maturity in terms of age,because that will give you the wisdom to handle issue around you,to control your anger,settle matters without violence,knowing that both are one and what belongs to the wife also belongs to the husband including their kids and that's what is called love and unity.
Now just because of N1000 a whole life is gone.The guy is not yet ripe and capable for marriage if N1000 naira can cause fight between him and his wife which even cause him his life.
Anyway may his soul rest in peace and may God forgive the wife.
