Together with the Phnom Penh Municipal Police and the Phnom Penh Municipal Prosecutor's Office, the Anti-Technology Crime Department's specialist units were able to apprehend the suspects.
The individuals were allegedly involved in a love fraud case on the social media platform WhatsApp, according to a statement released on Saturday, October 15, 2022, by the Anti-Technology Crime Department.
The pair had pretended to be attractive women in order to seek money, and they had then requested payment for goods that the fictitious lover had ordered.
The Anti-Technology Crime Department assembled a case following the interview and presented the two suspects to the Phnom Penh Municipal Court for future proceedings.
The statement said, "The Department of Technology Crimes would want to advise people to be extremely cautious when receiving money or anything that has no obvious source.
