The home of Afrobeats singer, Seun Kuti was invaded by the Lagos state police command on Tuesday evening, May 16. The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, said the command duly obtained a warrant to search the singer’s residence in the Ikeja area of Lagos. According to the Police PPRO, this was part of ongoing investigations of the alleged assault perpetuated by Seun Kuti.

The musician, in a video that went viral on May 13, was seen slapping a police officer on the Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos. He, however, alleged a murder attempt on him and his family by the policeman in the circumstance leading to the incident.

"We got a duly issued search warrant which we went to execute,” Hundeyin revealed on social media.

Good. A duly issued search warrant should be implemented.
