‘Total Madness’ – Singer, Peter Okoye Rants As ECOWAS Orders Standby Force Against Niger Junta

Award-winning Nigerian singer and half of P-Square duo, Peter Okoye, aka Mr P, has described the Economic Community of West African States, ECOWAS, resolve to use its standby force to restore constitutional order in the Republic of Niger as “total madness.”
It was reported that President of ECOWAS, Omar Alieu Touray gave the order while reading out the resolution of the subregional body’s extraordinary meeting on Thursday in Abuja.

Reacting via his verified Twitter handle, Mr P accused the West African body of joining the West to fight fellow Africans.

He wrote,

Stop ranting Tinubu is taking the right step. Niger Republic has been the problem of this country . The North pampers Niger Republic because they use them during elections . Boasting that they have the numbers. They also use Niger Republic as a conduit to terrorize Nigeria. If properly investigated or probed don't be shocked to hear that this Niger Republic which without doubt is regarded by northerners as the 20th northern state benefits from our annual budgets. Hence no northener is supporting the planned invasion by ECOWAS.
