Some passengers who escaped an attempt by suspected kidnappers in Okene area of Kogi Stateon Sunday, September 10, while travelling from Makurdi to Lagos state have cried out for help from a bush where they escaped to.
According to reports, the gunmen intercepted two commercial buses traveling from Makurdi to Lagos and during the attack, abducted 10 persons while many others escaped into the bush. The Kogi state police command is yet to comment on the incident.
Meanwhile some of the passengers who escaped the attack recorded a video from the bush where they were hiding and called for help. One of them who gave his name as Stephen, said
‘’We were on our way to Lago state when we were ambushed on the way. They started shooting on our vehicle. Some people were killed on the road. We managed to escape and ran into the bush. We are close to Okene’’
