President Bola Ahmed Tinubu made a significant announcement at the 29th edition of the annua Nigerian Economic Summit.

He declared that the new Student Loan Scheme, which he signed into law earlier in the year, will take off fully in Nigeria by January 2024. This initiative is aimed at providing easy access to higher education for indigent Nigerians through interest-free loans from the Nigerian Education Loan Fund.

The funds for this scheme will be domiciled in the Ministry of Education and will only be accessed by indigent students of tertiary institutions.

In addition to this, President Tinubu assured Nigerians that government-owned tertiary institutions in the country would no longer go on strike.

Slavery, robbing with the right hand and giving with the left hand. At the end what comes out from the left is a drop when they have taken a full cup.
