Veteran Nigerian musician, Blackface has voiced his concerns regarding singer Rema‘s lyrics in the hit song “Charm.”

During a recent appearance on The Honest Bunch podcast with Nedu Wazobia and others, Blackface expressed his dissatisfaction with Rema’s lyrics, “I get money pass your papa,” from the song.

Blackface expressed his belief that many contemporary songs do not portray Nigeria positively. He cited one of Rema’s songs as an example.

He said that if his daughter were to introduce someone like Rema as her future husband, he would not hesitate to ask them to leave his house.

The singer argued that the lack of moral values in the lyrics, such as claiming to have more money than someone’s parents, is a reflection of one’s character and values.

He further claimed that, based on Rema’s lyrics, the young artist appears to be lacking in moral content, and this, in his view, doesn’t present Nigerian music in a favorable light.
