President of Hungary, Katalin Novák, has demanded an end to the persistent attack on Christian communities in Nigeria.
The 46-year-old spoke via X on Wednesday following widespread killings in two local government areas in Nigeria’s Plateau State on Christmas Day.
During a Wednesday visit by Vice President Kashim Shettima, the Chairman of Bokkos local government, Monday Kassa, disclosed that the death toll had risen to 148 across 38 communities.
Military gangs, locally called “bandits”, launched “well-coordinated” attacks in “not fewer than 20 different communities” and torched houses, the council chairman said.
The assailants were also said to have looted farm produce and destroyed properties.
