There are some vague references in the Holy Quran, where women are told to dress in a modest way, and lower their gaze to save embarrassment if they are beautiful.

The wearing of the hijab, burka etc, are relative newcomers to the modern Islamic woman's wardrobe. Last 200 years or so.

It's the same old story. The misogynists and segxwally repressed psychopaths that somehow vote themselves in charge of all religious groups, don't waste a minute laying down the law to deal with their own hangups and shortcomings. They have always blamed women for their own lack of self control. You only have to listen to the way they rant on, and on, that they have a problem dealing with women.  I think they doth protest too much. What are they hiding?

Christians are no better of course. They too have been treating women like s**t for centuries. They perfected the art long before Islam came into being.
