The reported looting of nearby shops and theft of food items and valuables by the bandits adds to the distress and economic hardship faced by the affected communities.
The lack of immediate reaction or response from the Kaduna State Police Command and the state’s Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs raises concerns about the adequacy of security measures and the capacity of authorities to address the escalating security challenges in the state.
The arrival of the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, to confer with Governor Uba Sani on the way forward is a welcome development. The residents of Kajuru and Chikun Local Government Areas, as well as other affected communities, deserve to live in peace and security.
